Alright folks, it's only the second sock monkey post but I thought I'd go right to the delightfully strange. Monkey Sew Spunky will happily make you a sock monkey in your likeness. For $120, this self described "sock monkey maven" will customize your sock monkey. Here are a couple of examples - - and don't blame me if you wake up thinking about how you suddenly need one of these. They are irresistible.
Did you know that if you search for "sock monkey doll" on etsy you get 45 pages of results? and on google you get 856,000 results. Over the next few posts I'm going to show you how this simple, inexpensive toy has been re-imagined by countless people. Any animal species you can think of has a sock version. Some are simple, others are elaborate. You can even customize them to look like you. Today, though, I wanted to stick with an original style sock monkey. Oddly hard to find among the crowded sock landscape.

Overall, I would recommend my experience using Alchemy. I had 20 bids on my project. And it's not like I was offering a crazy high payment, my offer was $75. The process was great. Once I selected Amber, we had a few back and forth exchanges and then she got to work. She was responsive and creative and even thought we didn't meet in person, I feel a bond with her.
Less than 24 hours and 15 bids to do my project. I've gotten some really interesting interpretations of the assignment. Offers to burn the work into wood, engrave into any material, create a quilt, digital paintings and traditional painting, calligraphy and drawings.
